Who We Are

An initiative built on solidarity, not charity.

The Oyo Youth Initiative Forum (OYIF) exists to promote social change through inclusive programs that support the development, empowerment, and integration of underprivileged individuals within our community.

We stand for human rights, health rights, and the dignity of persons with special needs — meeting people where they are, and working alongside them, not for them. Every hand we extend is matched by a hand reaching back to build something lasting.

“We Rise by Lifting Others” OYIF Motto

Why two hands?

The mark shows one hand reaching down to help, and one reaching up to be helped — white for openness, a touch of red for the energy and passion behind every act of support.

Where We Work

Four areas of focus

Our work is anchored on four pillars that shape every program, partnership, and outreach we run in Oyo and beyond.

01

Human Rights Advocacy

Protecting the rights of children, youth, and vulnerable persons, and speaking up where those rights are threatened.

02

Health Rights

Promoting health awareness, access to services, and community-level healthcare development programs.

03

Persons With Special Needs

Assessing needs, providing vocational training, rehabilitation, and support for a self-sustaining life.

04

Community Development

Building local capacity through skills training, participatory programs, and stakeholder collaboration.

Why We Exist

Mission & Vision

Mission

Promoting social change through inclusion.

To promote social change through inclusive programs and initiatives that support the social development, empowerment, and integration of underprivileged individuals within the community.

Vision

Breaking the cycle of poverty and isolation.

To break the persistent cycle of poverty and social isolation by restoring hope and creating opportunities for a brighter, more sustainable future — because every individual has the right to access the resources needed to live with dignity and contribute meaningfully to society.

Our Charter

Twelve objectives guiding our work

Every program we run traces back to one of these commitments, set out in the OYIF constitution.

01

Promote the social development and welfare of underdeveloped, vulnerable, and marginalized individuals within the community.

02

Encourage healthcare development and the promotion of health awareness and services.

03

Advocate for the protection of human rights, with particular attention to the rights of children, youth, and persons with disabilities.

04

Empower local communities through skill development, capacity building, and participatory programs.

05

Engage and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance community development initiatives.

06

Assess and analyze the needs of persons with disabilities to provide appropriate support and interventions.

07

Identify homeless and destitute individuals and facilitate their relocation to suitable institutions or shelters.

08

Empower differently-abled individuals through vocational training, employment, rehabilitation, and self-sustaining support.

09

Mentor and guide youth to build character, leadership, and self-reliance.

10

Preserve and protect the environment while promoting sustainable, ecologically balanced development.

11
